European Vacation – Aphrodite – 2nd Day 1

Our room mate did not come back to the room at all last night, but she had left some of her things in there.  After breakfast we went to the purser’s office to find out what was going on.  He said he would look after it and within an hour the rest of her stuff was gone.  I guess she must have been given another cabin.

I saw Greg today and he must have been told to ‘stay away from those Canadian girls’.  He would wave or make signals to me whenever he felt that he could.  I didn’t have a chance to talk to him all day.  Manuel was moved to another job and they were training a new waiter for the lounge.  No more free drinks for us, I guess.  Minos was fine though and he asked us down to his cabin.  We decided not to go with him, as it looked like we got enough of the staff in trouble already.

We just found out that the last night on board is a formal night.  We hadn’t brought anything formal along with us, so we went as usual in our jeans.  We had champagne for dinner and everyone but us were dressed very elegantly.  We felt a little out of place, but it was either go in our jeans or not eat.  I put my legs under the tablecloth.  :)

Today was Friday, July 4th, 1975.

Since I didn’t have much to say this day, I thought I would add some current stuff to today.  :)

I got some more beautiful hoarfrost pictures when we walked yesterday, but I’ll save those for another day.  After we got home, I watched and took pictures of Chester and Cyrus, so I’m going to show 3 of those pictures.

Cyrus was sitting on a vacume cleaner box (yes, its still at my back door) trying to get Chester’s attention.

So, Chester went to sniff noses and Cyrus looked away.

Then Chester looked away and Cyrus looked back down again.

Then Chester walked away and Cyrus is wanting him to come back.

Chester’s blood test results came back fine and we are continuing with the meds at the higher dosage.

There may be baby lion lop bunnies arriving here in the very near future.  Stay tuned for pics when the event occurs.  :)

On Africam yesterday we saw Lions, Zebra, Wildebeest, Nyala, Waterbuck, Wooly-necked Stork, Elephant, Baboon, Hadeda Ibis, Egyptian Goose, Zebra, Weavers, Wahlbergs Eagle and Giraffe.  Click here to see yesterday’s pictures.  Today we have seen (so far) Leopard, Giraffe, Warthog, Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Nyala, Impala, Vervet Monkey, Elephant, Duiker, Zebra, Cape Buffalo, Egyptian Geese, Crested Guinea Fowl and Side-striped Jackal.  Click here to see today’s pictures.

I’m excited to say that the cam at Nkorho is back up again after the repairs were done to the cable.  Welcome back Nkorho!
